Selecting the right system

When it comes to choosing a CCTV systems you will have to choose between three different  options. All three are great solutions for home protection and will come down to budget and wiring disruption or future proofing.

Analogue Cameras

The first systems we will talk about are analog systems, this is the traditional way to wire cameras and has been done for years and will still be around for many years to come. They are wired with a coaxial cable and a separate power cable to power the camera these cameras range from 2 megapixel up to 8 megapixels. As standard we start our range from 5mp, there nothing wrong with cameras less than this like the 2 megapixels ones and can do just as good job and would be happy to quote for these but the range is huge and we can only select what we believe are the most suitable for most of our customers. Analog cameras are connected to a digital video recorder (DVR) which enables you to record video locally so you can play back and watch footage without the need of an internet connection. If you connect your DVR to the internet you will be able to view your cameras from your smartphone phone via the app from anywhere.

IP Cameras

The next option our the network cameras or IP cameras this is a newer way of wiring CCTV systems and a more flexible way of wiring them they run of data cables instead of coaxial. They convert pictures at the camera into data and sends them through the cables to the network video recorder (NVR) this makes the footage more secure and for higher security buildings this is a great advantage but for homes it’s not so important. Cameras on this system doesn’t necessarily need to be connected straight to the NVR if you have a home network installed in your house they only need to be wired to that. Another advantage of this system is that the camera gets there power from the data cable (power over Ethernet) which cuts down on amount of cables and also smaller size cables. These cameras do have more technology than the standard analog ones which makes them a little quicker to react and have more features which makes these systems more expensive. As with the analog system the network systems also have a handy app to view from anywhere.

Wireless Cameras

We also offer a wireless option, we understand that some people don’t want the disruption of having cables routed around their homes but want protection from cameras so a wireless cctv system could be the solution and we can supply and fit great systems to do this job. Wireless systems do come with some drawbacks compared to wired ones but technology these days makes them as good as some diy systems on the market. Compared to wired, wireless cameras cannot produce picture quality as good as the wired nevertheless the wireless 2 megapixels cameras do generate a great picture for a wireless camera.

Colour At Night

Colour at night cameras are becoming increasingly popular and a great choice to have this option available. Most of our packages will have this function or a similar smart colour at night option. The way this technology works is with traditional cameras when it becomes dusk the camera will switch over to black & white mode and turn on their inferred lights to aid the picture quality and distance the camera can see in the dark. The colour at night cameras switch on a led white light and with clever inbuilt tech within the camera aids it to generate a great full colour picture even in the darkest of nights.

With this said not all people like having a light on there camera all night and would prefer the inconspicuous inferred lights on their traditional cameras. Then along came the smart colour at night cameras these camera can now switch to black & White at night like the traditional but if they detect movement will switch on the light and turn to colour at night mode. With these cameras the choice is yours and whatever suits your preference or environment its fitted you can decide what mode you would like them in.

Off Grid Systems

We can also supply off grid camera systems for places with no power or no internet as long you can get a 4g mobile signal you can have a camera system you can view from your mobile phone from anywhere. With features like motion detection this is also a great option for farmers protecting their livestock and machinery. There are so many possibilities for these systems in many situations.
